How old were you when you're parents had a discussion with you about the birds and the bees? Or did they ever have a formal discussion about it? How comfortable were they talking with you about sex? My parents never had a formal sitdown with me. They just told me they had a book for me to read. By the time they gave me the book, we had already studied that stuff in health class. I learned more about sex from that class, HBO and the Playboy magazines my dad hid in his office. I could talk with my mom about periods, diarrhea and other disgusting bodily functions but I never talked with either of my parents about sex. I could tell it embarrassed them and it made me uncomfortable trying to bring it up with them.

I'm still awaiting that talk and both parents are passed away, guess it may be a while, eh? *said the girl who birthed a baby at 15...*

Never had that talk. Mom avoided the issue. Turned out okay. Learned from friends and reading. Started doing personal research at parties at age 16. Won't make the same mistake if I have the chance.

Spilled my drink on her blouse, got slapped. My initial hypothesis is you have to get a girl's permission before entering her in a wet tshirt con-*test*-('"). Will have to validate my theory with further field research.

I cried when I started my period, mom consoled me, and she said that because I've started my period, I could get pregnant if I ever went "all the way." I think I was still playing with Barbies, so I'm like, all the way? All the way to Wal-Mart? WTF do you mean, mom? But I figured it out by the time I was 15. Now my daughter will be 10 next summer and I'm dreading the talk and I'm not sure when to have the talk with her.

No talk....I got the book myself. I had the "talk" with my daughter when she was 10...a scaled down version. She absolutely does not like talking about this stuff with her mom LOL.

my Sis in law started the talk around age 10 with my niece, scaled down like bookie and just a few months ago, at age 12, she gave the full-blown talk to my niece. Full of slang and everything my sis in law knows, my niece now knows. She said it was really difficult and most of the time my niece said ...ewww..gross, but she didn't want my niece to be the girl that didn't know anything.
